Early Winter on East Lake

Well it has been quite a while since I last showed up here. Dec 01, 2017 - who knew ? I guess I put more time into Gemsworldpostcards.

I have a couple of new views of East Lake, some taken yesterday and a few taken today. There is certainly a huge difference in them.

Let's do yesterday - Tues Oct 2nd, 2018

It was a mostly dull day with a temperature of   -2 C. These pics were taken at 0950

We got a fair amount of snow in Airdrie, but I don't feel so bad. Calgary, just 15 km down the road, got 40 cm of the white stuff. They had to have reinforcements  ( snow clearing equipment ) come in from Edmonton, Red Deer and Medicine Hat. It was the snowiest day for the city in 105 years. Unbelievable for Oct 2nd.

Now for comparison, here is East Lake today.

Wed Oct 3rd, 2018 ,  Temperature of -6 C , bright sunny conditions. Time of pics is 0945.

Just think, two days ago the birds were swimming, now they are skating ! East Lake is skimmed over. This is way too early.
